Orphan presents a new version of Toei Douga's 1965 feature-length cartoon *Gulliver no Uchuu Ryokou* (*Gulliver's Space Travels*). This sci-fi children's tale owes its inspiration to *Gulliver's Travels* but is not based on the book. Ted is a street urchin in an unnamed European city. Kicked out of a movie theater, he is almost run over by a truck. He dreams that he finds companionship in a talking stray dog, Mack, and an equally verbose wide-up toy soldier, the Colonel. Together with the now-elderly Professor Gulliver, they venture out into space, hoping to reach the Green Planet of Hope. Instead, they encounter a race of whimsical robots that are victims of the much larger robots they created to serve them.
